This simply shows what can be done.
In an ideal world, I would either monitor a folder / directory for new files or I would monitor an email address such as suppliers@.... negating the need for a file upload.
Also I would automatically populate your database / accounting package (If they had an API) / spreadsheet with the data from the invoice.
A very simple example of what can be done. The potential is huge.

Thereafter, the possibilities are endless.
In fact, this is live on my Google Drive and automatically updates Airtable (Similar to Smartsheet) for my own invoices as well as my accounting package. I simply save them to a specific folder in my Google Drive and it all happens automatically..
